Exclusive: Essex social services have obtained a court order against a woman that allowed her to be forcibly sedated and for her child to be taken from her womb by caesarean section
Italian woman in the UK for business training. Bipolar, not on meds, possibly because a lot of them are problems when pregnant. Gets sectioned and stuck in a mental hospital after having a panic attack, they sedate her and do a C-section and take the baby, who is now up for adoption in the UK. No, really.
Her lawyers say that she had since resumed taking her medication, and that the judge formed a favourable opinion of her. But he ruled that the child should be placed for adoption because of the risk that she might suffer a relapse.
This is why I am pretty sure that I am probably never gonna be
ableallowed to have kids. Cause given my history and general aversion to psych meds for personal reasons, I am 100% sure they will snatch any kid I happen to have off me as soon as they can.
And this is why revealing myself to be autistic is dangerous. Because I’ve had my parenting choices questioned and I can only credit my allistic spouse as the reason I have custody of my kids. Because I’m clearly too biased and telling authorities that I’m not going to submit my kids to abusive therapy (ABA) means I must not be in my right mind and I’m too biased to make that choice.
Yes, this is one of many things that have happened and why I have trouble dealing with school teachers the like even now.
not only that, but all she had was a panic attack??? like not trying to say that panic attacks aren’t serious but that’s not anything big enough to consider this kind of action??? it’s a huge over reaction and i hope the british government basically gets fucked over for doing this to this woman.
Yes, that too. And again, she was not taking her meds because she was pregnant, something a lot of mentally ill/disabled people do because they are trying to mitigate any possible harm to the fetus. And that’s why she had a panic attack, or why she was at higher risk for one. Because she was off her meds.
